The Slippery Rock University council of trustees took time at their quarterly business meeting on Friday to say goodbye to a longtime employee.
Chief Human Resources Officer Lynne Motyl is retiring later this month after 36 years at SRU. In addition to contributing to various campus initiatives, Motyl has been involved with Leadership Butler County and the United Way of Butler County.
Council also issued a commendation honoring class of 63 alumni Jerry Bejbl who passed away in March. Bejbl is a member of the Rock Athletics Hall of Fame and also was the first SRU graduate to donate more than $1 million in total lifetime giving to SRU.
Council approved a resolution to rename the SRU softball field Kasnevich Field in honor of class of 68 alumni Jan Kasnevich was a student athlete at SRU in multiple sports before returning to coach between 1977 and 1997.
