A project to improve pedestrian connections in Slippery Rock has received a significant grant.
According to State Representative Jaret Gibbons, the Commonwealth Financing Authority has awarded over $212,000 to the Slippery Rock Trail Project.
The money will allow for the construction of sidewalks along North Main Street near Slippery Rock Elementary School north to Kelly Boulevard. This will allow for safe walking between the school and the future site of the Slippery Rock Borough Community Library.
This project is part of the downtown revitalization effort with a goal of enhancing the quality of life and connectivity in Slippery Rock.
