Slippery Rock’s offense got started early and didn’t let off the gas as the 10th ranked Rock football team defeated Wayne State University 62-37 Thursday night at Tom Adams Field in Detroit.
Led by quarterback Roland Rivers III, the Rock offense totaled 517 yards, including 405 passing yards and six touchdowns from Rivers.
Jermaine Wynn led Rock receivers with eight cathces for 152 yards and two touchdowns. Henry Litwin had seven catches for 122 yards and two scores.
The Rock begin conference play next week, when they face Shippensburg at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium Saturday night at 6:00 p.m.
