A 24-year-old Slippery Rock man has been charged with assault after he allegedly threatened to hit his grandmother with a hammer and shoot her.
Jeffrey Ford was arrested Monday morning following the altercation at a home on Orchard Park Lane.
According to a police criminal complaint, the 67-year-old victim says Ford threw her luggage around the living room, waived a gun threatening to shoot her and then said he was going to hit her in the head with a hammer.
Police did find a loaded gun in a drawer in the living room but Ford says that while he did make the verbal threats, he was not holding the gun while doing so.
No one was hurt.
