A Slippery Rock man is facing charges following a road rage incident that occurred earlier this week in neighboring Mercer County.
According to a criminal complaint filed by State Police, 46-year-old Varick Vanistendael is accused of stabbing a 25-year-old man while both were traveling in Grove City early Tuesday around 12:30 a.m.
Troopers say that Vanistendael and the victim were acquainted but recently had a falling out before seeing each other at the Sheetz. Police say that the accused later stabbed the victim three times with a knife on a road nearby. The victim was able to drive himself to the hospital with abdomen and back wounds but was in critical condition when he arrived.
Vanistendael faces several charges including felony Aggravated Assault.
