A Slippery Rock man will return to federal prison after he fled from authorities.
According to the Department of Justice, 43-year-old Walter Tribble was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison on Friday for escaping from federal custody while serving a previous sentence.
Officials say that Tribble, who was serving a 110 month sentence for three armed bank robbery convictions, was serving the last part of his sentence in December of 2016 at the Renewal Center in Pittsburgh when he was allowed to go to a local business. Tribble was required to return to the center at a specific time that day, but he never returned.
The United States Marshals were able to locate Tribble at a residence in Guys Mills, Crawford County several weeks later on Janaury 18th, 2017.
