High School Sports from Monday:
The Slippery Rock baseball team fell in the District 10 semi-finals Monday to Fort LeBoeuf 7-6. The Rockets season ends at 16-6 overall.
Several local baseball teams will see important games Wednesday.
Moniteau will face Karns City in the District 9 Double-A championship game tomorrow afternoon at Clarion-Limestone high school. Game time is 4:30pm.
Knoch and Mars will meet in the WPIAL Triple-A consolation game at Washington & Jefferson College at 7pm. The winner will advance into the state tournament. Knoch is the defending state champions, while Mars won Section 5 this year over the Knights.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic will meet Monessen today at West Allegheny high school in the WPIAL Single-A consolation game. First pitch is 2pm.
The District 9 Double-A softball championship will be played at Clarion-Limestone high school Wednesday at Moniteau and Cranberry. Game time is 3:30pm.
