Incoming sixth graders got their first look at the new Butler Area Middle School Thursday night.
Ashton Gray attended last Northwest last year and had this to say about the new transition this year, “I’m excited because it’s a new school.”
Ashton was joined by his mom, dad, and soon to be step mom for the open house at the building that used to be the Junior High.
Vibrant color has been added through the halls and especially in the new STEAM labs and out in the new recess area.
Ashton’s mom, Kathy, from Lyndora has changed her opinion from when she first heard about the new configuration idea to now, seeing how it has turned out.
“At first it was overwhelming, just because I just felt they’re so young to be mixed in with everybody. I went here, his dad went here. It’s a lot different, it’s more updated, it’s actually a lot nicer than I remember,” Kathy explained.
The first day of school for Butler is Tuesday, September 8th.
