A former Butler County woman who stole hundreds of Wal-Mart customers’ Social Security numbers was ordered to immediately report to prison after violating the terms of her bond.
Jennifer MacVittie, once a resident of Cranberry Township, was ordered by a federal judge Tuesday into the custody of U.S. marshals to immediately begin her sentence because she changed where she had been supposed to be living.
32-year-old MacVittie, along with her husband 35-year-old Robert, allegedly drove around the country and “shoulder-surfed” Wal-Mart customers, stealing their identities while they cashed checks.
Jennifer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to four years and nine months in prison last week. The judge had initially allowed her to self-report to a federal prison in Phoenix this summer.
