The Pittsburgh man who fled and hid from police in Chicora for nearly a week last year will be sentenced in Butler County court next month.
Robert Amend, 49, is expected to serve prison time and receive probation. He pleaded guilty back in November to fleeing or attempting to elude police officers.
He will still face several, more serious charges in Allegheny County, including attempted homicide.
Amend is accused of shooting his estranged girlfriend August 8 in Pittsburgh and then driving to Butler County. His vehicle was spotted by troopers on Route 68 in Oakland Township and after a high-speed chase, he fled on foot into the woods.
He evaded several search efforts by police for five days before turning himself in.
