Sheetz is hoping to sell alcohol at another one of its stores in Butler Township.
Officials with the gas station and convenience store have requested to transfer a liquor license to their store on Evans City Road (Rt. 68) to allow for the sale of beer and wine.
Because the license would be purchased from an owner in Evans City Borough and brought into Butler Township, a public hearing must be held. That hearing is set for March 18 at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Municipal Building.
The move would still have to be approved by the state Liquor Control Board. Last month, the commissioners approved a resolution that would allow a liquor license to be transferred to the Center Avenue Sheetz.
There are currently 24 active liquor licenses in Butler Township.
