Sheetz is hoping to sell alcohol at one of its stores in Butler Township next year.
Officials with the gas station and convenience store have requested to transfer a liquor license to their store on Center Avenue to allow for the sale of beer and wine.
Because the license would be purchased from an owner in Center Township and brought into Butler, a public hearing must be held. That hearing is set for Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Butler Township Municipal Building.
The move would still have to be approved by the state Liquor Control Board.
