Most of Pennsylvania’s Democratic Congressmen say they will not attend today’s inauguration of Republican President-Elect Donald Trump.
U.S. Representative Mike Doyle of Pittsburgh and Philadelphia Congressmen Bob Brady, Brendan Boyle and Dwight Evans have all announced they won’t attend the ceremony.
Evans says Trump’s position on the Affordable Care Act…and promise to repeal it… goes against the needs of his district.
“There’s nothing that I could be celebrating in Washington, D.C. when I feel that his agenda is not the agenda of the people who I represent,” Rep. Evans said.
The only other PA Democrat in the U.S. House- Matt Cartwright of the Scranton area- is still planning to attend Trump’s swearing-in.
