A couple of local libraries have announced plans to begin limited operations on Monday.
The Cranberry Township Public Library will begin accepting returns of items that people have checked out with the opening of the outdoor book drop at the Municipal Center. All due dates on materials have been extended to June 15th with no late fees on accounts that were originally due during the period the library has been closed.
Also, the South Butler Community Library is taking steps to restart lending services. Library staff began entering the building again on Friday to process items previously returned, prepare areas to quarantine materials that will be returned, and establish new procedures. The outside book drop will open at noon Monday with all items currently checked out to be returned over the next two weeks.
When the library is ready to begin lending materials again, patrons will place a hold on an item they would like to borrow either online or by phone and no contact pickups will be scheduled. This is not ready to begin yet but staff members will be available for questions on Monday.
