Several Butler City Police officers have received promotions recently.
Effective March 6, Sergeant John Johnson, Patrol Officer Chad Rensel, and Patrol Officer Anthony Fatta were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
Also, Patrol Officer Jeremy Walters, Patrol Officer Brian Grooms, and Patrol Officer David Villotti have been promoted to the rank of Sergeant.
The large number of promotions at once is due to the fact that all advancements had been delayed while the city changed how officers are promoted. Test results are now much more valued when determining police advancement.
