The Butler Area School District is contracting with an Allison Park company to remove and dispose of asbestos at the Senior High.
At their meeting earlier this week, the school board approved a contract with Hannan Construction for materials and labor in the amount of $16,000.
Asbestos has been found in cracked and exposed floor tile in offices and storage rooms at the Senior High Gym.
The areas have been sealed and abatement work is expected to begin sometime soon.
