Seneca Valley School District officials say all students and staff are safe after rumors of a threat circulated on social media this morning.
In a message posted to their website, the district says that police investigated reports of the threat at the secondary campus, and found them non-credible.
The district also added that typically they don’t address rumors like this, but that misinformation was wide spread this morning on social media.
The message continued that rumors and innuendos like this “exacerbate the district” and they are trying to limit “I heard about this” comments on social media because it could cause further panic that paints the wrong picture.
Seneca Valley leaders tell parents and students that if they hear information of a threat that may be meaningful, to contact the administration or police.
