The Seneca Valley boys soccer team defeated WPIAL Triple-A champion Canon-McMillan 1-0 Saturday and have advanced into the PIAA semi-finals Tuesday. They will face Springfield-Delco at Chambersburg high school beginning at 6pm.
The Karns City Girls also defeated a WPIAL champion with a 3-2 victory over Greensburg Central Catholic. The District-9 champions will meet Loyalsock Township in the state Single-A semi-finals Tuesday at Dubois high school. Game time is 7pm.
The Mars, Freeport and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic football teams have all reached the WPIAL semi-finals this week. Mars will meet Central Valley Friday in the Triple-A semifinals. Freeport will face Aliquippa in Double-A. North Catholic will match up against Jeanette. In Quad-A: Pine-Richland gets Penn-Trafford.
In District 9: Karns City will meet Moniteau for the Double-A championship. The game will be played at Clarion University’s Memorial Stadium Friday. Kick-off is 7pm.
