A new bipartisan report from the U.S. Senate reveals details in communication breakdowns and logistical concerns that led to the assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump in Butler.
The committee released the report overnight. It contains information based on interviews with the Secret Service and local police.
Of note, the report cites the Secret Service failure to place visible barriers between the stage and the AGR building. It also says there was a lack of communication between the Secret Service and local police.
One senator noted that “there was a lack of an effective chain of command” with questions as to who was responsible for securing the perimeter of the Farm Show Grounds.
There were also two communication channels and centers the day of the rally; one for Secret Service and one for local police.
The report revealed that Secret Service became aware of Thomas Crooks on the AGR building at least two minutes before shots were fired.
