There’s been a flurry of campaign announcements as Pennsylvania gears up for both a senate and governor race next year.
Our news partners at Radio PA spoke with longtime Pennsylvania political analyst Terry Madonna who said to Western PA natives are among the top contenders in the Democratic race for Senate.
“There’s no doubt that we have the Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, who certainly is the best known of all the Democrats in the contest right now. But, let’s add Congressman Conor Lamb of the 17th District. He represents parts of Beaver County, which has the cracker plant,” Madonna said.
As for the Republican primary, there are two names that stand out to Madonna.
“One of them is obviously Dr. Oz, who is probably better known than anybody in the contest. The second Republican is Carla Sands, who was an actress and has lived in California for the past 40 years. She then became President Trump’s ambassador to Denmark,” Madonna said.
It’s widely expected that businessman David McCormick, who has already launched a television commercial buy, will announce for the GOP nomination in a few weeks.
