A candidate for U.S. Senate made his pitch to voters Tuesday morning in Butler.
Republican Dave McCormick spoke at a meet-and-greet inside Mac’s Café on Route 8. He took questions from the audience but also took time to introduce himself and the main topics of the campaign.
He talked about battling inflation, growing Pennsylvania’s energy influence, and tackling immigration. He says he jumped into the race because of the current state of the country.
“The wokeness and the weakness that has taken our country in the wrong direction has to be stopped,” McCormick said. “And I want to make sure that my kids and your kids and all the kids of Pennsylvania get to live the same American dream that I had.”
McCormick believes that the immigration issue at the border has led to an influx of drugs into the country, including fentanyl.
He also stressed the importance of taking on China and said schools aren’t teaching a right form of American history.
