A local lawmaker continues to push back on a proposal by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation that would implement a toll on a number bridges across the state.
Republican Senator Scott Hutchinson will join with colleagues at a rally on Wednesday at 10 a.m. on the front steps of the state Capitol.
PennDOT has proposed a $1 to $2 toll without legislative approval on a total of nine bridges including two in Western PA: the Canoe Creek Bridge in Clarion County and Bridgeville Interchange on I-79. This plan has been temporarily halted by a Commonwealth Court injunction.
The opposition rally will be streamed live on Senator Hutchinson’s website as well as his Facebook page.
