The security at the medical marijuana dispensary in the City of Butler is tight, but the security at grow facilities is even tighter.
There aren’t any medical marijuana grow facilities in Butler County. Butler City’s dispensary will be supplied with marijuana grown at a dispensary in Jefferson County.
“The access is a lot more limited at a grow facility,” Mark Gillenberger, of Dagostino Electronic Services, told Butler Radio in an interview. “Grow facilities are very, very secure.”
According to Gillenberger, a grow facility almost resembles a prison. There are perimeter fences around the entire facility with an electronic gate and an intercom system.
Unlike a dispensary where the public is coming in and out, a medical marijuana grow facility does not need to be customer-friendly.
“You can’t even get onto the property they are that restricted,” he said. “We’re monitoring the entire perimeter. Very tight, limited access.”
Cresco Yeltrah is the owner of the grow facility in Jefferson County, which will be supplying the Butler dispensary with product.
