Butler County residents dealt Tuesday with the second morning of extreme cold temperatures.
Before daybreak Tuesday, the actual air temperature was –3 in the city of Butler, according to the National Weather Service. The wind was quieter this morning compared to Monday, but it was still out there and making the “feels like” temperature as cold as –11.
The difference between Monday and today is we are warming up. The NWS expects it to hit 30 degrees by this afternoon with partly sunny skies.
Freezing rain is possible late tonight into early Wednesday.
All nine public school districts in Butler County, and several private schools, decided to delay the start of classes due to the cold. Butler County Community College is also operating on a 9:30 a.m. start time for all of its campuses.
