FBI agents are searching a Georgia landfill in hopes of uncovering evidence in the disappearance of a Florida woman. The woman thought to be behind the crime is originally from Butler County.
The landfill search comes two months after Joleen Cummings went missing. She was last seen leaving work at a hair salon in Floria. Cummings’ co-worker- a woman who went by the name ‘Jennifer Sybert’ but authorities now believe was Kimberly Kessler- was the last person to reportedly see her. Kessler was arrested on auto theft charges and has been in jail since.
Florida authorities believe items Kessler left in a dumpster could be vital to the outcome of the case, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office. Surveillance video of Kessler emptying trash into a dumpster around the time of Cummings’ disappearance led deputies to the Georgia landfill.
Police believe Kessler had 18 aliases and had lived in 14 states. She was born and raised in Butler and was reportedly last seen by family members 14 years ago.
