The Saxonburg community welcomed home standout athlete Jordan Geist last night, who just returned from setting a record at the Pan American Junior Games in Peru.
Geist won gold in the shotput on Sunday, breaking the previous record by about six feet.
“I told him to go and be yourself,” Coach Mike Hambrick said. “I’m really proud of him.”
The Knoch grad will be headed to the University of Arizona this fall.
Geist will be a guest on Wednesday’s ‘Sports Soundoff’ on WBUT 1050AM at 5:15 p.m. with host Tyler Friel.
