Saxonburg is gearing up for its 185th anniversary with a special celebration later this month.
Fred Caesar, coordinator of the 185th Saxonburg Anniversary Celebration Committee, told our newsroom, “this is a great opportunity to celebrate what Saxonburg has contributed to Butler County, the Pittsburgh area, and the world because of John Roebling and his brother Carl, who founded Saxonburg. And then, John Roebling went on to develop and get his patent while here in Saxonburg for wire rope cable.”
Caesar says at the celebration on July 15, 2017, there will be a lot of activities for the whole family to enjoy. A parade will take place in the morning along Main Street with a street party afterwards.
A Sunday morning church service will take place at the historic Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church where relatives of John Roebling are expected to attend.
Details about Saxonburg and the celebration can be found at www.saxonburgpa.com.
