The Pittsburgh Pirates lost to the Milwaukee Brewers, in the first game back after the All-Star break 4-1 last night. Winning pitcher for the Brewers was Mike Fiers and picking up the loss for the Pirates was Charlie Morton. Both teams are back in action today for a 7:10 p.m. first pitch start, you can catch all the action on 680 WISR with the pre-game starting at 6:45 p.m. Tonight’s starters are Francisco Liriano for the Pirates and Jimmy Nelson for the Brewers.
The Butler Blue Sox won last night in 13-innings, 5-4 over the Quincy Gems. The win keeps Butler within a half-game of the division leading Chillicothe Paints, who are on an eight-game winning streak. The Sox will travel to Jamestown for two games this weekend.
Second round of the British Open at St. Andrews was suspended again this morning due to poor weather conditions. The second round was already delayed yesterday for three hours due to weather and was not completed due to darkness. The leader at the moment in the clubhouse is England’s own Danny Willet who has already finished his second round is nine under par.
