The Salvation Army in Butler will partially reopen Tuesday (2/16) after flooding has forced the nonprofit to keeps its doors closed for nearly two weeks.
The upstairs of the West Cunningham Street building will reopen, allowing the weekday Food Cupboard to resume, according to Administrative Assistant Amy Tebay. Soup and sandwiches will be served weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
For now, all after-school programs and other activities will remain suspended as work to restore the downstairs of the building continues. A sewage backup earlier this month caused severe damage.
The group is working with their insurance company to cover the costs.
