The hearing for the sale of the former Oakland Township Elementary School is scheduled for later this week and the building is ready to be sold.
A hearing at the Butler County Courthouse before Butler County Court of Common Pleas Judge S. Michael Yeager will be held Wednesday, Sep. 14 at 3 p.m.
The Butler Area School Board agreed to sell the property in June to businessman Monty Edgar for $360,000. Offers from other potential buyers will be considered by the judge at the hearing.
Oakland had been used as a collecting point for materials following the district’s consolidation last year but an auction last weekend has cleared out 95 percent of those supplies. The auction earned almost $12,000 for the district.
