The South Butler School Board will pay to have a demographic study done on the district.
A cost of up to $16,000 was authorized by the board during a meeting on Wednesday night to complete the study, which is expected to provide information about enrollment projections to allow for more accurate budgeting and staffing.
The completion of a demographic study is often an initial step before a feasibility study, which could help determine if district facilities are meeting changing needs to district students and residents. South Butler last received the results from a feasibility study in 2015.
It is expected to take several months to complete the demographic study.
