A reorganization of the South Butler School Board has resulted in a new board president.
By unanimous vote during a meeting on Wednesday, board member Donna Eakin was chosen as board President for the upcoming year. Eakin previously served as the Vice President of the board.
Previous board President Matthew Cimbala announced last month that he would not seek another term as president, but he was voted to serve as Vice President for the next year. Cimbala spent several years as Vice President before taking over as President, and he points to successful teacher contract negotiations as one of the major accomplishments of his time leading the board.
The four-year school board terms of both Eakin and Cimbala are up in 2019.
