The South Butler School Board will not be purchasing a piece of property offered to them near the district campus.
The board was approached earlier this fall by the Allegheny Insurance Group with an offer to sell the building and property located at the corner of Knoch Road and Dinnerbell Road.
A price of $165,000 was negotiated and the district was granted a 90-day window in order to consider the purchase. The board paid $1,500 for a building inspection that was carried out in October.
According to Superintendent Dr. David Foley, the renovation cost to meet ADA requirements exceeded the amount the district was able to commit to have that work done.
