The South Butler School Board has changed one of their policies dealing with public participation at board meetings.
By a vote of 6-1 during a meeting on Wednesday, the board approved the adoption of Policy 903, which- among other things- eliminates the second of two opportunities for public comment during board meetings.
Board President Matthew Cimbala said the change was made in order to more closely align with the structure recommended by the Pennsylvania School Board Association.
Board member George Zacherl voted against changing the policy due to the fact he believes it is important to address concerns from the public about actions taken as soon as possible to eliminate confusion.
