The South Butler School Board does not have any immediate plans to begin a construction project as board members work their way through information from a recent study.
The board received the results of a feasibility study earlier this week with many members recognizing the district has infrastructure needs, but this is a very early first step.
South Butler currently has about $3 million in a capital reserve account to be used for facility improvements, with an additional approximately $300,000 set aside for that purpose in the preliminary budget for next school year. However, the study determined that more money than that will be necessary to address aging facilities and equipment over the next several years.
Discussions about the challenges and possibilities of facility improvement will continue with more details about options expected at an undetermined point in the future.
