A well-know drummer will guest lecture at Slippery Rock University today.
Jim Donovan, one of the founding members of the Pittsburgh-based rock band Rusted Root, will lead a drumming workshop Friday for 30 psychology students.
After parting ways with the band in 2005, Donovan has been a drumming instructor at Saint Francis University in Loretto as well as touring on the lecture circuit.
Students attending the lecture will learn about how rhythm can be used to achieve mental focus, improve mood, and relieve stress especially in children with autism or attention deficit disorder.
