Two people were seriously injured as a result of an accident Tuesday morning in Center Township.
According to State Police, the crash happened around 9:30 on Route 38 near Glenwood Way when a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Sierra Cranmer of Chicora crossed the center line and left the roadway.
The vehicle then hit an embankment and struck a utility pole, that broke in half. Cranmer was ejected from the vehicle and needed to be flown to Pittsburgh for treatment of a serious injury.
26-year-old passenger Shane Everetts of North Washington was trapped inside the vehicle when crews arrived. He was also seriously injured and flown to Pittsburgh. Police say both were not wearing a seat belt.
Route 38 was shut down for a time as crews dealt with downed power lines—which caused outages for a few hours for over 200 Center and Oakland Township residents.
