The Kansas City Royals defeated the New York Mets last night in Game five played in New York 7-2 in 12 innings, to win the World Series 4-1. Kansas City tied a 2-0 game in the ninth inning to force the extra innings. The Royals won their first World Series since 1985, coming from behind in all four of their victories in the series.
Pirates All-Star outfielder Andrew McCutchen has been named the winner of the 2015 Roberto Clemente Award. The prestigious annual award recognizes a Major League Baseball player who best represents the game through positive contributions on and off the field, including sportsmanship and community involvement. McCutchen is the second Pirate to win the award, joining Willie Stargell (1974).
