Route 8 in northern Allegheny County was closed in both directions Monday night following an accident that sent two people to the hospital.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. along Route 8 in Shaler Township.
One of the drivers was trapped in their car and had to be extricated. Both drivers were taken to the hospital. No one else was involved.
Route 8 was closed between Saxonburg Boulevard and Spencer Lane for about three hours.
