Motorists in Butler and Connoquenessing Townships should be aware of a road improvement project set to get underway early next week.
According to the PennDOT, as long as weather permits, crews will begin water and sewage line work on Route 68 between the intersection with Double/Stevenson Roads and Meridian/South Benbrook Roads.
Alternating single lane restrictions will be directed by flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays. There will also be side road closures with detours as needed.
This nearly $19 million project should be completed by November of 2025 and will include signal replacements, turn lane installation, and corridor improvements to enhance safety and reduce congestion.
