The Colorado Rockies defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 10-1 last night at PNC Park. Defensive miscues aided the Rockies scoring four runs in the fourth inning, sending the Bucs to their eighth defeat in nine games. The Pirates managed just four hits and struck out 11 times. Starting pitcher Luis Ortiz made his season debut, allowing five runs in five innings, but only two runs were earned.
The Bucs and Rockies complete their series today at 12:35pm. WISR will join the game following the Noon News. Rich Hill will start for the Pirates.
The Pirates are off Thursday, then visit the Baltimore Orioles this weekend.
The Pirates remain a half-game in front of Milwaukee in the Central Division. The Brewers lost 6-2 to the Dodgers last night.
