The Slippery Rock University football team completed their regular season with a 27-7 victory over Bloomsburg Saturday. The Rock improved to 9-1 and were given the #4-seed in NCAA Super Region-1 and a spot in the national playoffs which begin this weekend.
The Rock will host New Haven at 1pm this Saturday in the opening round. This will be the second time this season that Slippery Rock will host the Chargers. The Rock defeated New Haven 22-7 in their season-opening game September 7th.
Kutztown was given the #1-seed in the region. They will host the winner of the Slippery Rock-New Haven game November 30th. The Golden Bears were one of four teams to make the post-season, along with The Rock, California and East Stroudsburg. Kutztown defeated California 21-14 Saturday in the PSAC championship game.
