A busy northern Butler County roadway is expected to be down to one lane beginning Tuesday as PennDOT begins a construction project.
Crews will be milling, patching and doing guiderail upgrades along Route 308 in Clay and Cherry townships. Work is weather-dependent and expected to continue through the end of August.
PennDOT urges drivers to slow down and use extra caution in work zones. Drivers are also reminded that fines in work zones are doubled.
A portion of Boyers Road in northern Butler County will also be closed for several months beginning Tuesday for a road project. PennDOT will be working on the bridge which runs over the North Branch of Slippery Rock Creek between Ferguson Road and Dematteis Road in Mercer and Marion townships.
There is a detour in place that runs from Route 308- to Route 58- to Route 8. Work is expected to continue through mid-October.
