One person was killed in a vehicle crash Tuesday that happened just north of Butler County.
State Police say 65-year-old Willard Conner of Clarion County (Rimersburg) died instantly in the two-vehicle crash on Route 322 in Rockland Township, Venango County.
It happened about 6:15 p.m. between a Dodge Neon and a Saturn Aura.
Police believe Conner was traveling eastbound in the Neon when, for some unknown reason, crossed the center line and struck the oncoming car.
Driving the second car was 42-year-old John Michael of Emlenton. Police say he tried to avoid the crash but couldn’t. He was hurt and taken to the hospital.
There were three people in his car- including a 1-year-old- but they were not injured.
Route 322 was closed for two hours as investigators completed their work on scene.
