Even though the weather was not ideal for part of the day Saturday, the Ride for the Cure event was able to raise a large amount towards the fight against cancer.
The fifth annual fundraiser and events throughout the year allowed the group to collect a total of $49,000 to help local cancer patients.
Saturday’s ride began at the Rock Ann Haven in Butler Township and made several stops before finishing with a pig roast at the Longhorn Corral as well as live music, prizes, auctions, and raffles.
In the five years this event has been going, a total of nearly $130,000 has been collected.
