With the impending snow this weekend, Evans City is reminding residents to remember to shovel their sidewalks.
The borough has a “Snow and Ice Removal” ordinance that states all homeowners or occupants of land, and all persons in charge of a church, school or public building, must remove snow, ice and sleet from their sidewalks within 12 hours of snow falling. Those who fail to do so could be fined.
The borough also has a ‘Winter Parking Ban’ ordinance in effect that states off-street parking is encouraged during the winter to expedite snow removal and the salting of borough streets.
Vehicles in violation of winter parking restrictions could be towed and their owners fined.
Cranberry Township also took to Facebook to remind their residents to move any parked vehicles from township roadways to make room for snow plows.
The National Weather Service is forecasting between 8-12 inches of snow could fall in Butler County over the weekend.
