There was another large crowd that gathered at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Butler Township Commissioners to voice opposition to a possible parking lot in the very early planning stages.
We reported yesterday that around 40 residents showed up to the township’s planning commission meeting on Tuesday after hearing that township officials were exploring a possible parking lot near Preston Park.
At last night’s meeting, the number of residents nearly doubled with around 70 residents attending, and nearly 20 addressing public comment and questions to the Butler Township solicitor.
Township officials say they are currently testing soil on a three acre piece of property to see if a parking lot would be possible.
The plan is still in the very early stages, and wasn’t on the agenda for either meeting.
