Police do not suspect foul play after a body was found Tuesday inside an apartment near Slippery Rock University’s campus in Butler County.
Slippery Rock Borough Police Chief Terry Fedokovitz says officers were called to the Campus Edge Apartments about 6 p.m. Tuesday after tenants complained of a strong smell.
“Maintenance workers were called to do a welfare check on the man, and he was found deceased,” Fedokovitz said.
It’s unclear how long the man had been dead. Butler County Coroner Bill Young had not yet released the man’s name as of Wednesday morning, or the cause of death.
He was 40 years old.
Slippery Rock University’s student-run newspaper ‘The Rocket’ were the first to report the incident.
