A local lawmaker is unveiling a plan to help keep opioids off the streets.
Republican Tedd Nesbit, who represents a portion of Butler County in the State House, is holding a press conference at noon Monday in the Main Rotunda of the State Capitol.
Rep. Nesbit is sponsoring a bill that he says would more tightly control how opioids are prescribed, which often results in those drugs being misused. Nesbit will also be joined at the press conference by orthopedic surgeons including President of the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society Dr. Patrick Smith.
This event will be streamed live beginning at noon at RepNesbit.com.
