A local lawmaker is offering a unique opportunity to a qualified local high school student.
As part of a special legislative appointment initiative, Republican Tedd Nesbit, who represents parts of Butler and Mercer counties, is able to appoint a student to the Valley Forge Military College.
The college does not receive any state money and is open to students interested in many careers, not just those in the military. The student chosen by Nesbit will receive a minimum of $12,000 to attend Valley Forge in Delaware County and additional financial assistance could be available.
Applications will be accepted through the end of January. For more information about this program, call Nesbit’s district office at 724-458-4911.
